New Minor RootsMagic Update Available
A free minor RootsMagic update has been posted for download. The 3.2.5
update provides an updated help file for the charting part of RootsMagic
which works under Vista. We have also added World Vital Records to the
internet search feature of RootsMagic (Search > Internet Search). We will be
talking more about World Vital Records in upcoming newsletters.
You can download the latest update at:

Tip of the Month (submitted by Anne)
My tip! Having used RootsMagic for a few years now I have often wanted to
send GEDCOM files to new relatives but avoided sending the notes because of
some personal information, plus it was too laborious to remove the
particular notes.
I have only just noticed the private fact box on each fact which is
brilliant for not sending particular facts. To solve my notes problem I just
made a new fact called Biography as most of this personal info was
particular memories and changed over all the sensitive info from the general
notes to this particular fact. Then I marked it private.
I wonder how many other people haven't noticed the private fact feature!
Editor’s Note: Thanks Anne. And there is another way you can keep some of
your notes private. If you put brackets {like this} around any text in a
note, that will make that note private as well. When exporting to GEDCOM (or
printing reports) make sure to tell RootsMagic to not include private notes,
and text between brackets will be stripped out.
As always, if you have questions about this tip, or in using RootsMagic more
effectively, visit our message boards at:

RootsMagic Cruise to Offer 1 on 1 Sessions
The RootsMagic Family History Cruise is fast approaching. Not only will you
be able to attend presentations from some of the best known speakers in the
genealogy world (while cruising no less), you can also schedule a 1 on 1
session with one of those speakers to help you with a specific problem or
brick-wall. You will be able to submit a problem you are trying to solve,
and one of our speakers will meet one on one with you to help you solve that
problem.
We still have a few cabins available. Join us November 11-18, 2007 on this
great genealogy cruise with fantastic speakers like Dick Eastman, Leland
Meitzler, and others. There will even be RootsMagic workshops taught by
Bruce Buzbee, author of the RootsMagic software.
